Trix Bars Recipe

Trix Bars

Ingredients:

  • 3 tbsp Butter
  • 8 cups Trix Cereal (10.7 oz box)
  • 10 oz Marshmallows

Trix Bars IngredientsDirections:

  1. In a medium to large saucepan, melt butter over low heat.
  2. Add the marshmallows and stir until completely melted.
  3. Remove from heat.
  4. Add Trix cereal and stir until cereal is well coated.
  5. Prepare 13×9 pan by spraying with cooking spray or coating with butter.
  6. Butter a your hands or use wax paper to press the mixture firmly into the pan.
  7. Allow to cool.
  8. Cut into bars.

  10. We make the krispy rice treats for most holidays, I’ve never thought to use Trix cereal. With the fruity colors they look Easter-y or spring-y.

    I’ve done this with the last remaining bits of cereals, whether its golden grahams, or a granola type cereal or Frosted flakes.. they are all good and all get eaten. This one may have too much color for my family.

    These sound pretty good. I bet you could substitute just about any cereal for the trix to make awesome cereal treats. its the same ingredients as rice crispie treats. I think chocolate chex mix would be awesome with this because it would sorta be like a smores.

    This is an updated version of Rice crispies bars, a treat I enjoyed as a kid. I like using the chocolate crispies for this sometimes.
